PKA or protein kinase a has several functions in cells . AKAP or A Kinase Anchoring Proteins are Scaffold proteins. They are a group of proteins that binds to the regulatory subunit of the PKA and regulates its activity to a specific region of the cell. There are at least 50 different types of AKAPs are present. They leads to different responses of PKA in different tissues.
