At time=0, a culture contains 1x106 bacteria per ml. Two hours later, there are 1.6x107 bacteria per ml. How many generations have occurred in this two hour interval?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Initially at t = 0 the count is 1 × 106 and after t=2 hours the count is 1.6 × 107 ,i.e 16 × 106

By seeing the count we can say that the count is increased to 16 times , if we start with cell count 1 after four generations the count becomes 16 times .
