Consider the experiment in which the person pulls on a bar in response to a sound. EMGs are recorded. Which result demonstrates feed-forward? Which result demonstrates feed-back?
When a person pulls up the bar there are two types of force motions happening. Feed back and feed forward. Feed-forward motion is formed due to the adjustments made by the nervous system to adapt to the muscles stress created during the pull-up. Whereas, the feedback motion is formed by the muscles as a result of mechanical perturbations. The muscles adjust themselves to the mechanical changes that happen during the pull-up and down of the bar to balance the body and to prevent bone muscles from being damaged or getting teared off.
