name the enzymes that are involved in the replication fork along with their functions. postion the enzymes in a diagram with detail on how they interact.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Helicase - breaks down hydrogen bonds present between two strands of DNA and converts them into single strands of DNA

Single stranded binding proteins - maintains single stranded molecule of DNA in single standard form

Toposiomerase - relaxes supercoiling which occurs ahead of the replication

Primase - synthesizes RNA primer which provide free hydroxyl group to DNA polymerase 3

DNA polymerase 3 - adds deoxyribonucleotides to the growing daughter DNA molecule

DNA polymerase 1 - removes RNA primer and fills in the gap between adjacent okazaki fragments

Ligase - formation of phosphodiester bond between adjacent okazaki fragments to form a single continuous molecule of DNA

Please rate high.
