Kingdom protists are organisms, they are not included in bacteria, virus, fungi, plant , animal category because they donot share, a similar characters with all the species of particular kingdom. They developed from several ancesters, that is why they are showing combination of characters. For example consider euglena , it is an organism which comes under protist it has both plants and animal characters, chloroplast content in euglena makes it similar to plants, whereas presence of flagella makes it similar to animals.
