Answer #1

Ans- PCR is a method of amplifying DNA of interest in many fields like biomedical research, diagnostic testing and forensic testing. National centre for biotechnology information (NCBI) provides information for designing the primers used in the PCR. Following is the procedure for the same-

1. First go to the submission form of primer BLAST.

2. In the primer parameters section of the form, we have to enter one or both primer sequences. If only one primer is available, a template sequence is required.

3. Select the appropriate source organism and the smallest Database that is likely to contain the target sequence in the primer pair specificity Checking Parameters section.

4. Finally clicking on the 'Get Primers' button to submit the search and retrieve template and specificity information.
