Answer #1

5) Mitosis is the type of cell division where one cell (the mother cell) divides to produce two new cells (the daughter cells) that are genetically identical to itself.

There are four phases of mitosis-

a) Prophase - The chromosomes condense during this stage of mitosis.

b) Metaphase- The chromosomes line up or pair up during this phase.

c) Anaphase- The chromosomes begin to separate during this phase of cell cycle.

d) Telophase- The division ends during this phase.

6) If a diploid organism has a total of 18 chromosomes, then the eggs of that organism have 9 chromosomes.

The germ cells like egg or sperm have half the number of chromosomes as a diploid cell which are termed as haploid (n).
