Answer:

A potential human activity such as use of detergent with high basicity used for various activities may pollute the supplied water. As we know detergents are used for washing clothes, cars, cargos(every other item) and after that they are directly discarded either to ground or to water bodies. In both the cases this detergent pollutes the ground level or river water . We indirectly mix detergents in our drinking water by adding these pollutants into that.
