How does dehydration affect osmosis?

Please include a diagram & identify whether the cell us hypotonic or hypertonic.

Dehydration affect the osmosis because in the osmosis only solvent molecules moves through the semipermeable membrane .If solvent i.e water not present the osmosis stops .

If the cell is hypotonic with respect to the medium then watwr will moves outside to become shrink it and it is known as plasmolysis.

If th cell is Hypertonic w.r.t medium then water enter into the cell to become it swells up.
