Answer #1

Human Brain do not achieve full maturity till the age of 20.Teenager brain has a lot of plasticity, due to which  it can change, adapt and respond to its environment. The brain develops with increase in neuronal connections, and the connections starts uilding up from the back of the brain and comes to the front. We know that in front of our brain the pre frontal and frontal cortex are present that are responsible for decision making. But the limbic system develops faster than the frontal and prefrontal cortex. As we know that limbic system is the seat of risk, reward, impulsivity, sexual behavior and emotion, higher activty of the limbic system and lower activity of pre frontal cortex gives rise to the unpredictability of teens.
