In the journal 'Cellular Energy Utilization and Molecular Origin of Standard Metabolic Rate in Mammals' what did the authors report about which molecular mechanisms contributed to ATP consumption (i.e. were coupled to ATP consumption and accounted for significant oxygen-dependent ATP synthesis) in mammals? How did they arrive at their conclusions?
Major ATP dependant energy consumption occur in muscle movement in procesa of doing work which could be realted to daily work , and thinking process if it is human. These processes require most of the energy which comes from oxidation of complex food we used to take either in form of carbohydrates or fat or proteins. All these act as rich source of energy where chemical energy locked in the chemical bonds of these biochemical molecules get oxidized in presence of oxygen to release energy. This energy captured in convetsion of ADP +Pi to form ATP.
Again this formed ATP is now act as source of energy for the doing all usefull work related to survival of the organism.
Thanks.
