Describe the structure and function of Plant cell walls.
The plant cell wall is rigid. The cell wall is positioned next to the cell membrane, the cell wall is the outermost layer. Like plant cells, some bacteria and fungi have a cell wall, animal cells lack cell walls. The plant cell wall is made up of cellulose. The plant cell wall consists of three sections-middle lamellae, primary cell, and secondary cell wall.
Middle lamella consists of polysaccharides called pectins.
The cell wall provides protection and structure to the cell of plants. Other function inculde- withstand turgor pressure, communications, and storage.
