Four most common forms of vegetarianism include:

  1. Vegan-These people do not eat any animal products or their by-products. Therefore they do not eat meat (red/white), fish, fowl, eggs, and dairy products. Even the products like honey, gelatin, beeswax, silk, leather, and wool which are animal byproducts are not used by vegan people.
  2. Lactovegetarian- As the name itself suggests the lactovegetarian people do not consume meat (red/white), fish, fowl, eggs but eat dairy products like cheeses, milk, and yogurt.
  3. Ovo-vegetarian- These people do not eat meat (red/white), fish, fowl, and dairy products but consume eggs.
  4. Lacto-Ovo vegetarian-These people do not eat meat (red/white), fish, fowl but eat dairy products and egg products. Most vegetarians fall into this category.
