The effect of myelin and nodes of Ranvier is to make nerve impulse travel

Answer: B) Faster

Explanation: Myelin covers and insulates the axon of neuron. Nodes on Ranvier are intermittent gaps in the myelin sheaths of axons which contains high amount of voltage-gated sodium channels. When action potential reaches node of Ranvier, the sodium channels present will open and cause an influx of sodium ions. This influx of sodium ions regenerates the action potential and helps the impulse to travel faster down the axon. This process is called saltatory conduction (faster rate of transmission of action potential due to jumping between Node of Ranvier).

Then when impulse is generated it travels from cell body to axon in one direction and not vice versa.
