What is relation between blood pressure control and Kidney function? In other words, can you explain blood pressure control through urine formation mechanisms.

Answer #1

Ans

Kidney besides filtering and waste elimination functions it also maintains homeostasis, pH, blood pressure and osmolarity. The kidney functions to control the blood pressure by maintaining the volume of blood in the body. During, the blood pressure elevation it reduces the blood pressure by reducing blood volume in body. It functions by reducing reabsorption of water into blood and produces the watery and dilute urine. In a similar way when blood pressure is too low. It produces concentrated urine. The kidney causes the production of enzyme renin which causes blood vessel to constrict. Thereby restricting the water release in to urine. They also regulate blood pressure by removal waste. The renin-angiotensin-aldosterone hormonal system of urine regulate the blood pressure

1. In your own words, explain why an animal with excessively high blood osmotic pressure must be able to produce urine hyperosmotic to its blood plasma if its kidneys are to help correct the problem. In your answer, explain why neither urine that is isosmotic to the blood plasma nor urine that is hyposmotic to the plasma would help.

Chronic kidney disease can also be caused by diabetes mellitus, hypertension, or glomerulonephritis Explain how inflammation of the glomerulus could occur due to an autoimmune response. (i.e. What immune responses enhance inflammation and how?) In diabetes mellitus, high blood sugar damages the blood vessels in the kidney. Explain how damage to the glomerular capillaries, which become more leaky, would affect kidney function including what a urinalysis would be like for someone in this condition.

This question considers blood pressure in living creatures. The following values for blood may be useful: viscosity = 3 x 10-3 Pa s density = 1060 kg/m3. (a) A bug sucks blood from other creatures through a small tube, 2 x 10-4 m long and with a radius of 5 x 10-6 m. The observed flow rate is 3.3 x 10-10 m3/s. You are investigating the association between exercise and high blood pressure. You find that the RR of high blood pressure among people who exercise is 0.75. However, people who exercise are also more likely to eat healthy diets, and healthy diets reduce the risk of high blood pressure. Knowing this, what is the most likely adjusted RR you would find if you stratified by whether people ate healthy diets? 0.85 0.4 2 Please show work and calculations.
