1.- Somatic embryos are formed from plant cells which are not normally involved in the development of embryos. the somatic embryos are bipolar where as the shoots are monopolar in nature .structurally around the somatic embryos there is no seed coat or endosperm but where as in the shoot bud there is the presence of the endosperm.
2-After the callus formation,has taken place. the initiated callus is being cultured on a low auxin or hormone free media which promote somatic embryo growth and root formation instead of shoot formation.
