Spring has sprung, and so have the dandelions. The dandelions are sprayed with an herbicide, but some dandelions survive. Explain
-why a few of the dandelions will not be affected by the herbicide and will continue to grow and reproduce.
-What is the process of a few of the dandelions being more fit than others in the environment with the herbicide? (this is how the question is posted on canvas)
Q. Some of the Dandelions that survived must have developed the resistance against the herbicide. This resistance have let them survive in such condition when the other Dandelions get diet. The exposure to such herbicides over long time can result into the development of resistance against them for weeds . This is the result why some Dandelions survive and other get died.
Q. The process is natural selection. The nature selects those individual which are more fit than the other. The competition between two species always goes in favour with the one with survival advantage. Thus in this case Dandelions with the herbicide resistance are the fit with survival advantage and thus selected by the nature for further growth and development.
