The template strand of DNA is :-

5' TTACACGTGGACTGAGGACCTCTCCAT 3'

1) The complimentary strand of the DNA will be :-

3' AATGTGCACCTGACTCCTGGAGAGGTA 5'

The complimentary strand of DNA constitutes sequence of bases that pairs with sequence of the template strand.

The base pairing rule :-

  • Adenine (A) pairs with Thymine (T)
  • Guanine (G) pairs with Cytosine (C)

So if there is "A" in the template strand then in the complimentary strand it will be "T" and vice versa. And if there is "G" in the template strand then in the complimentary strand it will be "C" and vice versa.

2) The mRNA transcribed from it is :-

3' AAUGUGCACCUGACUCCUGGAGAGGUA 5'

The mRNA transcribed from the template strand will be same as coding strand of DNA but Thymine (T) is replaced by Uracil (U).

The base pairing remains the same except the Adenine (A) pairs with Uracil (U).
