Coronavirus destroys lungs, but doctors are findings its damage elsewhere

The new coronavirus kills by inflaming and clogging the tiny air sacs in the lungs, choking off the body's oxygen supply until it shuts down the organs essential for life.

But clinicians around the world are seeing evidence that suggests the virus also may be causing heart inflammation, acute kidney disease, neurological malfunction, blood clots, intestinal damage and liver problems. That development has complicated treatment for the most severe cases of covid-19, the illness caused by the virus, and makes the course of recovery less certain, they said.

As it is known that corona virus majorly affects the lungs. But it is found that the urine collected from the covid-19 patients has proteins indicating early stage of kidney damage. Also researchers found particles of covid-19 in the kidney of deceased patients.  

This virus is also found to be damaging the heart. Doctor's have reported myocarditis in covid-19 patients.

This virus affects the gastro intestinal tract as it has more receptors for covid-19 and also has huge surface area hence causing diarrhoea and vomiting.

The main symptom of corona virus is loss of taste and smell, this is because the virus attacks the olfactory nerve endings.

Acute hepatitis is seen in many covid-19 patients. This is due to the liver damage.

The main problem caused by this disease is clotting in legs and other vessels.
