The signal here is an optical signal, and the transducer of such signal is a reporter molecule that responds to variations in the assey. The aptamer based lateral flow strip assey uses many overlapped membranes, the sample is placed in the membranes, this sample will move laterally towards a conjugation pad that contains the reporter molecule. This reporter molecule will produce a signal when it interacts with the sample. This allows for the detection of certain target molecules
