What are the advantages and disadvantages of using non-specific primer pairs?
Non specific binding of primers occur when primers bind to the certain fragment of DNA which we do not want to amplify.
Non specific priming is advantageous when we do not know the exact sequence of the DNA molecule which we want to amplify. In this case primer will bind to different region on DNA and give the amplified product.
It is disadvantageous when we specifically want to amplify a certain region of DNA. If non specific priming occurs in this case, then those regions are also amplified in which we are not interested.
