Question

How does ADH control the volume and osmolarity of urine produced

How does ADH control the volume and osmolarity of urine produced

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ans. ADH ( Antidiuretic hormone) is produced in humans and its function is to increase the reabsorption of water. Hence, it helps in conservation of water in our body. Permeability of distal convoluted tubule and collecting duct to water is increased by antidiuretic hormone(ADH). These are normally impermeable to water. As a result of effect of ADH by reabsorbing more water and retention in our body, urine output is reduced and made the urine more concentrated i.e. osmolarity of urine increases.
