Answer #1

Ans. Metabolism is low during sleeping as compared to awakening. There is reduction of 15% in metabolism during sleeping as compared to awake. The cells are actively working during awakening and brain is functioning actively during awake. The reduction in metabolism is a means to keep the cells at resting state and heal the damages during active state at the time of awakening. Brain consume high amount of energy and the level of energy consumption is high during wakening as compared to sleeping. During sleeping brain takes little load of acvity and hence metabolism becomes low. Low metabolism involves less expenditure of energy.
