write the two neutrals, two acids and two bases using the following +ve and -ve ions (Na ,Pd ,Ca ,H ,OH,NO3 ,Cl)

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Neutral solution have pH of 7 which is neither acidic or basic. All salt solutions of strong acid and strong base are neutral solutions.

Example of two Neutrals :

  • NaCl ( Sodium chloride solution)
  • CaCl2 ( Calcium Chloride solution)

Acids :

Acids are substances whose pH levels are below 7 , and they turn litmus paper into red .

  • Examples : HCl ( Hydrochloric acid)
  • HNO3 ( Nitric oxide)

Bases :

Bases are substances whose pH value is greater than 7 and they turn red litmus into blue.

  • Example: Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) or caustic soda.
  • Calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) or lime water.

Thank you.
