1.Calculate the risk of intake of aplatoxin in peanut butter.
Assuming that an adult weighing 70kg takes 15g of peanut butter containing 3ug/kg of aplatoxin for 35 years every day, the cancer potential of apatoxin is assumed to be 2,900 mg/kg-day, a person's average life expectancy is 70 years.
Presence of aplatoxin in 15gm of peanut=
(3 ug/1000gm)x15gm= 45ng
He used to take 45ng of aplatoxin for 35 years, so total concention accumulated in his body after 35 years =
45x 35x 356= 574875ng/ day= 0.6mg of aplatoxin
So 0.6mg of aplatoxin accumlated in his 70kg body weight so for per kg it's 0.6mg/70kg= 0.01mg/kg of body wt. Which is far leads then 2900mg/kg which is minimum conc. For causing cancer.
So this person has very less chance of getting cancer from peanut.
Thanks
