The levels of chromatin :

• Histones : DNA envelopes the histone proteins, resulting in the formation of nucleosomes.
• Nucleosomes : numerous histones envelopes into 30 nm fiber with having nucleosome arrays.
• 30 nanometer fiber.
• Looped domains
• Metaphase chromosome

The chromatin structure is altered to permit (decondensation) or prevent (condensation) transcription, this process is known as chromatin remodeling. Here, the addition of chemical groups to certain amino acids/histones by large groups of enzymes, causes chromatid condensation or decondensation.
