Staphylococcus epidermis is a spherical shape bacteria.It lives on our skin especially on sweaty places such as armpits, nostrils.

Staphylococcus epidermis produces the enzyme protease to protect us from harmful bacteria such as staphylococcus aureus.This enzyme helps to slow the growth of staphylococcus aureus.Staphylococcus aureus has a strong capacity to attach to biotic or abioticsurfaces and form biofilms ,leads to chronic infection.The enzyme produced by staphylococcus epidermis, donot allow to form biofilms and colonization of staphylococcus aureus.
