in secondary lymphoid organs which type of mature B crll is MOST likely to respond to a protein antigen?
1)B-2 B cells
2) MZ B cells
3) B-1 B cells
4) 1 and 2
5) 1,2,3

Answer #1

Protein antigens are used by T cells to activate B-cells. The process is known as T cell-dependent activation. MZ B cells are most preferably activated by T cell-independent antigen (antigens other than peptides). Type B cells are also activated by T cell-independent antigen. Means activation of both does not depend upon proteinaceous antigens. B-2 B cells are activated only when the antigen is a protein in aT cell-dependent activation process. So option 1 (b-2 B cells) is correct
