A) For nucleotide sequence, what is the protein (coded for by the gene for a nucleic acid sequence) and in what biological process is it involved?

B) What is the scientific name of the organism

C) How many nucleotides in the coding sequence

D) How many amino acid translated

Homework Answers

Answer #1

A) The name of the protein coded by this nucleotide sequence is Mouse B-cell specific transcription factor (Pax-5). This Protein is involved in Transcription regulation.

B) Scientific name of the organism is Mus musculus

C) The coding sequence is starting at nucleotide number 33 and it continues upto nucleotide number 1205. Last three nucleotide viz. nucleotide number 1206,1207 1208 form stop codon. So total length of nucleotide sequence coding for the protein is 1205-32 = 1173.

D) Total number of amino acids coded by the coding region of this sequence 1173/3 = 391.
