Answer #1

Arrow pushing mechanism is also known as electron pushing mechanism. it is a technique used to describe the progression of organic chemistry reaction mechanisms. In this mechanism, curly arrows or curved arrows are superimposed over the structuralformulae of reactants in a chemical equation to show the mechanism of reaction.

VKOR is Vitamin K epoxide reductase. it is an enzyme that reduces vitamin K after it has benn oxidized in the carboxylation of residues of glutamic acid in the blood coagulation enzymes.

Write the steps in the mechanism of the base catalyzed condensation of the following reaction: acetone + Benzaldehyde (2.0 equivalents) ---(NaOH, H2O, heat)----> dibenzalacetone a) The first step is the deprotonation of acetone to form the reactive enolate nucleophile. Draw a reasonable and detailed arrow pushing mechanism for the following transformation. b) Next, the reactive enolate will react with the electrophile, benzaldehde.
