  1. The growth of the plant on earth occurs in such an manner where roots grow downwards( due to gravity) and shoot grows upwards( due to light).
  2. The scenario on space station are compltely different as there are limited resources, the space does not have natural sources of light nor larger places to grow plants.
  3. They have developed an plant pillow approach in which a small pouch like structure is called as pillow which has the presence of soil, nutrients , growth media and fertilizers in it. They are placed under the Led light and grown.
  4. The mostly grown vegetables include lettuce, cabbage, onions, peas, raddish and tomatoes.
  5. Therefore, certain pathways and microbe genome analysis are done in order to toatally understand the mechaims involved in growing vegetables and fruits on international space station.
