The four classes of grafts are autograft, isograft, allograft and xenograft. Briefly describe/define each.
1.Autograft: Transplantation of cells, tissues or organ between sites within the same individual. Graft that is taken from patients itself at the time of surgery. Example :skin graft.
2.Isograft: Tissue is transferred from genetically identical. This occurs in identical human twins,when the donor and recipient are relative.
3.Allograft: Transplantation of organ or tissue to donor from non-genetically relative individual of same species. It is most common type of graft.
4. Xenograft: In this type of Transplantation tissue is transferred between different species. Most commonly from animals to humans.
