Light reaction occurs only in lighting conditions. As the plant kept in dark condition, so light reaction doesn't take place.
Calvin cycle is independent of light. But it depends on the products of light i.e., ATP & NADPH (assimilatory power). As the plant already kept in red light before the experiment, where the plant would have produced the ATP and NADPH that is necessary for Calvin cycle. Hence, even when plant kept in dark condition, the plant would perform Calvin cycle in the stroma of chloroplast.
