Why do you think the females of some birds are able to raise their young on their own without the help of a male bird? How does the male of some birds attract female birds? Give one example.

Female only care occurs in 8% of bird population.

Maternal care is mother bird taking care of eggs and young chick till they become independent. Mother bird sits on eggs or incubates them for hatching of eggs. Once egg hatch mother bird go on foraging insects and other prey, and feed the babies until they fledge and are able to look for food themselves.
