Show me that you understand how a capillary functions to deliver nutrients and oxygen and collects wastes to the interstitial tissues of a person with normal blood pressure. Then briefly explain what elevated blood pressure (=hypertension) would do to this capillary function. 20 points for a perfect answer.
In our body, blood flow throughout via blood capilalries. The arteries and veins plays a crucial role in transportation of blood. Arteries carries blood away from the heart and in converse veins carries blood back to the heart. The capillaries surround the body cells and tissue, also contribute in delivering and absorbing oxygen, nutrients and other substances. The veins and arteries are always interconnected with the capilaries. These capillaries seems to be the small braching coming out of arteriole and covers all over the body. so, these capilalries receives oxygen from inhaled air into the blood flow and releases carbon dioxide during exhalation in lungs. Other places other than lungs ,oxygen and nutrients diffuses from the blood and enter into the capillaries and further delivered into various tissues.Thereafter, carbon dioxide and waste products get absorbed by the capillaries from the tissue and then finally release of deoxygenated blood into the veins occurs.
In case of elevated blood pressure(hypertension),the pressure of th blood travelling through arteries becomes high than the normal. The heart has to work harder to pump blood to all over the body and this process blood vessels reaching to the capillaries and further to the tissue would be damaged. Therefore, effiecient delivery of the nutrient and oxygen to the tissue and reomoval of the waste would not be possible.
