1-Hematoma--hematoma is the most common adverse effect of venepuncture. hematoma is the collection of blood beneath the skin as a result of rupture of small blood vessels.
2-Hematoma can cause discomfort . so , as soon as hematoma is noted the phelobotomist should remove the needle and tourniquet and apply pressure at the site for a minimum of 3 minutes. cold compress will help reducing swelling .
