Ans -- Dura mater.

Anterior fontanel is a diamond shaped opening between 2 frontal and 2 parietal bones which is present since birth and it closes at around 18-20 months

3 meningeal layers of brain from outside to inside are

a. Dura mater

b. Arachnoid mater--- avascular structure, under the arachnoid mater there is sub arachnoid space, which contains CSF.

c. Pia mater -- highly vascularised layer which is tightly attached to brain parenchyma

Duramater is the outer most layer of the meninges and lies just below the skull bones, it is further divided in two layers

1. Periosteal layer -- lines the inner surface of the bones of cranium
