Alcohol blocks ADH. What effect would this have on urine, tubular, interstitial fluid volumes?
ANSWER :
The antidiuretic hormone (ADH) released from the anterior lobe of pituitary gland, and stimulates the reabsorption of water in the distal convulated tubule (DCT) and collecting duct of the kidney nephrons.
If someone takes too much alcohol, it would inhibit the secretion of ADH due to diuretic biochemical nature of alcohol, and leads to the decreased water absorption in the corresponding parts of the renal tubule of kidney nephrons, althat results in increased tubular followed by urine volume, and significant decline in the interstitial fluid around the body tissues.
