After a virus enters a cell, what are the next steps it might take?
Following steps occurs when virus enters a cell:
Attachment: As the virus enters inside the cell it first attaches to the target cells.
Penetration: After getting attached to target cell virus is brought inside the target cell by endocytosis.
Uncoating and Replication: In this step the virus looses its envelope and viral RNA is released into the nucleus where it replicates in the presence of viral RNA polymerase enzyme.
Assembly: After this new proteins of virus are assembled together.
Egress: This is the final step where new viruses are released into the extracellular fluid.
