Following steps occurs when virus enters a cell:

Attachment: As the virus enters inside the cell it first attaches to the target cells.

Penetration: After getting attached to target cell virus is brought inside the target cell by endocytosis.

Uncoating and Replication: In this step the virus looses its envelope and viral RNA is released into the nucleus where it replicates in the presence of viral RNA polymerase enzyme.

Assembly: After this new proteins of virus are assembled together.

Egress: This is the final step where new viruses are released into the extracellular fluid.
