What is the Latin term for small arteries being accompanied by two or more veins?
Venae comitantes is the term which is used for small arteries being accomapnied by two or more veins. The veins are found in close proximity of the artery because strong pulsations of artery can also help the venous return. The larger arteries like aorta do not have any vena comitantes. They are usually accompanied by a single vein only. The vena comitantes are found in smaller arteries like in extremities. Eg Posterior Tibial artery and Posterior Tibial veins; brachial artery and brachial veins.
