What is the product of the process of glycogenesis?

Multiple Choice

  • Glycogen

  • Glucose and fructose

  • Glycerol

  • Glucose

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Option a is the correct answer as Glycogenesis is a specific kind of process of thw glycogen synthesis, in this process the  glucose molecules in our body is  added to the chains of the glycogen for the storage in our BODY . This specific process in our body is activated specifically during the rest periods and happens following the Cori cycle that take place in our liver in and this specific cycle also activated by insulin that is secreted by the pancreas in response to high glucose levels in our body . So the answer is glycogen and so the option a is the correct answer and the option b ,c and d is wrong

The removal of a glucose residue from glycogen is catalyzed by glycogen phosphorylase: Glycogen (n residues) + Pi ←→ Glycogen (n-1 residues) + Glucose-1-P The standard state free energy change ( ΔG°´ ) for the forward reaction is +3.1 kJ/mole. R = 8.314 J/mole·K. Under standard conditions at 25°C, what is the [Pi]/[G-1-P] ratio? Round the answer to one decimal place.

Many of our simple sugars and complex carbohydrates are made of glucose, galactose and fructose. In the body, these molecules are converted into energy via numerous pathways including cellular respiration. What are the final products of cellular respiration? In summary, what has happened to the glucose molecule? (Note: This question is not asking for a detailed description of the pathway and the steps but instead a comparison of the glucose molecule to the final product.)
