Answer #1

The muscle tissue is classified into three types. They are skeletal muscle, cardiac muscle, smooth muscle

Difference between skeletal and cardiac muscle

CARDIAC MUSCLE SKELETAL MUSCLE
  • This type of muscle is found exclusively in the wall of the heart.
  • It is not under conscious control
  • Each fiber has single nucleus.
  • Intercalated discs are present between each fiber
  • No sliding filament theory
  • It is found everywhere in the body
  • It is called voluntary, because contraction is under conscious control.
  • Each fiber has several nuclei
  • Sarcolemma is present
  • The sliding filament theory is present

In skeletal muscle, the sarcoplasmic reticulum regulates the intracellular concentration of calcium. During depolarization in cardiac muscle, calcium enters the intracellular fluid from additional sources. Where, besides the SR, does the calcium come from?
