Techniques employed to detect insects in grain handling facilities are manual inspection, sieving, cracking- flotation and Berlese funnels. But these methods are less efficient therefore the more efficient method called stanig of kernals are employed for infestation of grains for hidden insects. Techniques like flotation, acoustic techniques, radiographic techniques, uric acid analysis, NMR and immune assays also employed for better detection of pest in food commodities which render better storage and safegaurd grains.
