Blood leaves the left ventricle then enters____________ arteries; from these physiological arteries blood enters ______ arteries. When narrow to diameter of 0.1 mm or less, they are termed_____. From these vessels blood enters the exchange vessels, known as ____________. Blood then enters ___________, then veins and then back to the heart.
There are primarily two types of Arteries:- Elastic arteries and Muscular arteries. Elastic arteries are also known as large or conducting arteries. Eg aorta. These arteries send the blood to the muscular arteries. Muscular arteries are medium sized arteries eg femoral artery. They send the blood to narrow sized Arterioles (diameter<0.1 mm).
From Arterioles, the blood enters exchange vessels which are called Capillaries. Capillaries are the vessels which help in supplying nutrition and oxygen to the tissue and taking back waste products from the tissues. Capillaries open up in the Venules, which join to form veins and through Inferior vena cava, blood reaches the heart.
