Answer #1

Answer:

Basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma is the most common type of skin carcinoma which occurs in the basal layer of epidermis. Epidermis is the outer layer of the skin, which has five sub layers. The basal layer of epidermis is called stratum basale and basal cell carcinoma of skin may occur as a result of too much exposure of sun light i.e. ultra violet exposure. Carcinoma starts developing when basal cells of the skin multiply very quickly. This type of skin carcinoma is commonly occurring in people more than 50 years of age.Since epidermis is the outermost layer of skin hence it is easily exposed to ultra violet rays which may be one of the most predisposing factors of skin carcinoma.

The upper and lower layers of the leaf are formed by epidermal cells, with a waxy cuticle covering the outer surface. The cuticle protects the epidermis and reduces water loss. Below the upper epidermis are the palisade mesophyll cells, the primary site of photosynthesis in the leaf. Below the palisade layer is the spongy mesophyll layer, consisting of loosely packed photosynthetic cells. The loose arrangement of the spongy mesophyll allows for high uptake of carbon dioxide and release of oxygen...

Certain cancers, especially those of the liver, can be treated by injecting small glass spheres (30 to 35 µm in diameter) containing radioactive 90Y into the tumor. The spheres become lodged in the small capillaries of the tumor, both cutting off its blood supply and delivering a high dose of radiation which damages the tumor, hopefully sparing surrounding healthy tissue. The spheres stay in place until the radioactivity has completely decayed. 90Y undergoes beta-minus decay with a half-life of 64...
