Trace the path of a drop of blood from Ascending aorta to the small intestines?
Blood from ascending aorta goes to the descending aorta and then goes to thoracic aorta. Below diaphragm this thoracic aorta is called abdominal aorta. Abdominal aorta is subdivided into many branches two of which supply blood to the small intestine. These two arteries are celiac trunk and inferior mesentric artery. The branch of celiac trunk supply blood to the pylorus of the stomach and the nearby duodenum of the small intestine. Superior mesenteric artery supplies oxygenated blood to most of the small intestine and to the proximal large intestine.
