Answer #1

The peripheral Nervous system consists of 31 pairs of spinal nerves and 12 pairs of cranial nerves which branches out from spinal cord and brain respectively. Peripheral Nervous System is divided into somatic nervous system and autonomic nervous system. Autonomic nervous system sends motor impulses to body visceral organs and is divided into two parts i.e sympathetic Nervous system and Parasympathetic nervous system. Sympathetic Nervous System is involved in fight or flight responses whereas Parasympathetic nervous system is involved in rest and digest responses. Autonomic Nervous System is involved in involuntary control. Somatic nervous system is involved in voluntary control of skeletal muscles for body movements.
