Gas exchange: oxygen enters into the blood and carbondioxide leaves.

Regulation of blood ph: It is the second major function of respiratory system by altering the blood carbondioxide levels.

Voice production: Movement of air past the vocal cord produces sound and voice.

Olfaction: Smell occurs when airborne molceules are drawn into the nasal cavity.

Protection: Against micro organism by preventing its entry and removing them from the respiratory surfaces.

2. ANSWER: The main organ of the respiratory system is the lungs and other associated organs would be nose, larymx, pharynx, trachea and bronchi. These organs supply the air from outside to the lungs for gaseous exchange between the alveoli and pulmonary capillaries.
