Reflex action loop comprises of intant movements which are produced in response to a particular stimulus. Reflex action comprises of two neurons sensory and motor neuron. Reflex arc is monosynaptic.

  • When a hot object is touched, the hand is withdrawed.
  • The heat stimulus triggers the sensory impulse which travels down CNS.
  • The sensory neuron then synapses with interneurons which connect to motor neurons.
  • A few of these send motor impulses to the flexors which promote withdrawal of hands.
