  2. It also prevent the excessive loss of water from the body.
  3. It regulate body temperature .
  4. Some amount waste materials are also excreted through the skin.
  • Presence of keratin layer and glycolipid in the stratum corneum act as protective barrier for skin.
  • Skin mainly consist of three layers , outer epidermis , middle dermis and inner layer of subcutis also provide protection.
  • Most ok skin are covered by hair , which also prevent direct entry of pathogen into the body.
